Call Out Details:

2 females in their 20s and a Spaniel had set off from St Johns in the Vale Church at about 2pm to walk over Clough Head and the Dodds, descending via Sticks Pass to Stanah.
In poor weather and visibility they missed Sticks Pass and continued south over Raise, Whiteside and Helvellyn Lower Man to finally end up on the summit of Helvellyn.
Being completely lost they did not know they were on the summit of Helvellyn and with the time now 9.20pm realised they could not get themselves off the hill so called 999

Call Out Conclusion:

From their description of the location it seemed certain to be Helvellyn, this was confirmed by Sarloc/phonefind which placed them at Helvellyn’s summit. Keswick MRT dispatched a small group to locate and walk them off, but Search Dog Beck attended in case they had moved from their given location, and a search ensued.
