Call Out Details:

An 82 year old man felt unwell whilst ascending Gt Gable with several others. He was left at Windy Gap at approx. 14.00 to await return of others whilst they went to summit and returned. After waiting 2 hours and getting cold, misper attempted to make own way down. When his companions could not locate him, the alarm was raised.

Call Out Conclusion:

The missing man became confused with the route and ended up attempting to descend difficult and rough ground on flank of Base Brown, above Fawn Crag overlooking Seathwaite. Luckily by this time he had a phone signal so team, who were already out looking, were able to narrow down the location from the description given by the misper. The two handlers continued up the hill with the team, and assisted with the rescue of the gentleman.
