Call Out Details:
Search Dogs were called out to assist Kirkby Stephen MRT with an ongoing Search for a missing gentleman, who had failed to return following a day's walk in the area. Unfortunately he had left no route details, so it took some time to locate his car near Rawthey Bridge. An extensive search ensued by both MRTs, with two Coastguard helicopters, covering a variety of routes.
Call Out Conclusion:
The gentleman was found by Dave Howarth and his dog, Fern, later on in the morning. Sadly, despite the combined actions of everyone involved in the search, the gentleman did not survive.
