Call Out Details:
A lone male reported himself lost in the vicinity of Dubs Hut, Honister in the early morning, having been out all night in wet and windy conditions. He had lost his way after leaving the hut to go to the Youth Hostel at Honister. Cockermouth Team requested the assistance of search dogs to find him. The dogs were in the process of deploying from Honister when he was found
Call Out Conclusion:
He was located by team members in Dubs Bottom - a large featureless boggy area below the hut. He was very cold and wet, but was able to walk as far as the Team Landrover. It transpired he had intended to stay at the hut, but it was full; the occupants had given him some food, and a waterproof, but he had become disorientated on leaving, and had wandered round for much of the night, trying to find a way off the hill.
