Call Out Details:
A 58 year old grandfather and his 12 year old daughter were reported as overdue after a walk on Great Gable. Keswick MRT organised the search, with assistance from Wasdale and Cockermouth teams, covering a large area between Honister Pass, Moses Trod, Great Gable and the route up from Seathwaite Farm. A Coastguard helicopter was also requested. Search dogs were requested to assist the foot parties after initial searches failed to turn the two up.
Call Out Conclusion:
A telephone conference between the teams was just in progress as to how the search should be escalated, when word came through that they had turned up at Seatoller campsite, unhurt but tired and wet. Some dogs were still en route at this point, but all assets were then stood down, though it was 00.30 before the last were off the hill.
