Call Out Details:
2 males (father and 14 yr old son) reported themselves lost in fog near a stream, having been up Scafell Pike. Phonefind put them on Lingmell, east side of Piers Ghyll below Straight Ghyll crossing. Contact with them was not not possible, so it was unknown if they had moved. The weather was mild but damp, cloud had been down all day.
Call Out Conclusion:
Wasdale MRT mobilised and sent out a large group to find the pair, given the current complications of having to be ready to deal with cases involving Covid 19. The team's Search Dog, Jess, who has only been operational for about 8 months. Whilst the search was on-going, the casualties managed to text the parent's wife, who then confirmed they hadn’t moved, but that the father had taken a fall, They were located by Searchdog Jess close to the top of Piers Ghyll in poor light, mist and on difficult ground. It was Jess's first locate. The Team then extracted the two, provided them with headtorches, and walked them off the fell.
