Call Out Details:
Kendal MR Team were contacted by Cumbria Police, after a family group of four had got lost in the area around Kentmere Pike. Phone messages suggested they were physically fine, but unable to find their way off the fell. The Team deployed their 3 search dogs, Cuillin, Fern and Skye along a pre-arranged route plan that they had left with their guest house.
Call Out Conclusion:
With no success with the dogs search of the ridge, the Team were in the process of planning a full team search to commence at daybreak. The Team then heard that they were safe and well back at their accommodation, after an uncomfortable night on the fells. They had obviously descended below the ridgeline whilst the dogs were deploying.
