Call Out Details:
Just as Incident 5 concluded, a local hotel reported a couple overdue on a walk up Scafell Pike. They were inexperienced, and had little equipment. There was no route left, so teams had to improvise a search plan in weather that steadily worsened over the next four hours. At midnight, all rescuers were withdrawn in the face of atrocious conditions.
Call Out Conclusion:
At this stage, the couple remained lost. Keswick MRT made arrangements for the search to restart in the early morning.
