Call Out Details:
A male in his 40s was reported missing by his partner, a day after he failed to make contact, after a walk up Scafell Pike. His car was located at Wasdale Head, and Wasdale MRT then organised a search. There then followed a protracted search over 2 days, of the Central Fells round Scafell Pike with 7 rescue teams, search dogs from the Lakes and England, and a Coastguard helicopter without result.
Call Out Conclusion:
A member of Cockermouth MRT, out for a fell run, came across the body of a man below the crags surrounding Lords Rake, who had fallen some distance. Regrettably, this turned out the gentleman reported missing. His body was recovered by Wasdale MRT. Our condolences to his family.
